County Weather Emails: Confirmation, Location and Severity Choices
Published November 2, 2026 · Signal 911 Live

A weather email subscription begins only after you confirm your address. Choose the state, county and services you want, then use the confirmation email’s link and button. A saved My Feed choice is separate and does not enroll you in email.
Choose the intended service
The signup form offers NWS weather alerts and reported power outages as separate choices. Weather is selected by default on the weather page; power is selected on the power page. Check the boxes before submitting. One confirmed address can receive either service or both without being counted twice in the email milestone.
Be precise about the county
County choices come from the NWS location directory. Weather matching uses location codes released by the publisher, rather than a street address or your browser’s precise position. A county may contain several forecast zones. Read affected-area names in each message because a county match does not mean every address faces identical conditions.
Finish confirmation
Requesting an email does not activate delivery. Open the message, follow its private link and press the confirmation button. The link expires after forty-eight hours. If you request a new selection for an existing address, its previous preference stays in place until the new request is confirmed. Check spam or filtering if the message does not appear.
Keep another warning channel
Source checks and email queues run on schedules. Messages can be delayed, filtered or unavailable, and an alert can change after an email is prepared. Use official local alerts and NOAA Weather Radio for urgent warnings. Every alert email contains a private preference link; use it to change services or unsubscribe. Start at the weather signup form.
